A$AP Ferg, member of worldwide rap group A$AP Mob, who name dropped a popular menswear brand in their lyrics, Raf Simons. In their song “RAF” featuring rappers A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert & Frank Ocean. A$AP Mob is a hip-hop group from Harlem, New York.
One of the founding rappers in Worldwide A$AP Mob has recently became the first male rapper to speak out about the integrity of the brand Tiffany & Co. He joins Elle Fanning for the new “Tiffany Paper Flowers” campaign in New York.
He has been very popular in the rap music community and with fashion models like the Jenners. A$AP Ferg is also linked with Tailor Daniel Day, better known as Dapper Dan who fitted popular hip-hop icons in the ’80’s in Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Dapper Dan was close with Ferg’s father, Darold Ferguson Sr. who tremendously helped Bad Boy Records. A$AP Ferg is close with A$AP Rocky, a worldwide rapper from Harlem who is known for modeling for Dior.
Ferg speaks up about the jewelry in hip-hop fashion saying, “I couldn’t afford anything in here (referring to Tiffany & Co.) so I never walked in the store, kids, I can imagine them feeling the same way, they didn’t have anything to connect to.” He imagined what he might say to someone from his neighborhood: “I came from where you came from. You could attain this as well.” He also wrote a song for Tiffany & Co. with Elle Fanning called “Moon River” which can be found on Spotify. Another popular song by A$AP Ferg is “Plain Jane” remixed with hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj which refers to a expensive watch.
If A$AP Ferg can brand himself with the most iconic jewelry company with his sphere of influence in the hip-hop community, we can highlight Hood Couture Magazine for it’s popularity and credibility.
